The Kumrat Valley Tour takes you to one of Pakistan’s most pristine and undiscovered alpine valleys — a 4-day journey into Dir Upper, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where dense conifer forests, glacial rivers, alpine meadows and traditional wooden villages create a landscape of extraordinary natural beauty that few international visitors have ever seen.
Kumrat Valley
The Kumrat Valley sits at elevations between 2,100m and 4,500m in the upper reaches of Dir Upper district. The valley is characterised by one of the densest conifer forests in Pakistan — towering Deodar cedar, fir and pine trees creating a green canopy over crystal-clear streams. The air is clean, cool and scented with pine resin even in midsummer.
Jahaz Banda Plateau (3,500m)
The crown jewel of Kumrat Valley — a vast alpine meadow at 3,500m, accessible by a 3-4 hour walk from the valley floor. The plateau is carpeted with wildflowers from July to August and offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. The name “Jahaz Banda” means “ship-shaped plateau” — and from the approach trail the flat-topped meadow surrounded by peaks does resemble a ship on a green sea.
Kaga Waterfall
A dramatic waterfall in the upper Kumrat Valley, accessible by a short walk from the main track — one of the most beautiful cascades in KPK.
