Skardu
Skardu sits at 2,500m in the upper Indus Valley. Visit Kharpocho Fort above the Indus–Shigar confluence, the brilliant Satpara Lake, Upper Kachura, the Sarfaranga cold desert, and the restored Shigar Fort Heritage Hotel.
Deosai — The Land of Giants
About 30km from Skardu by 4x4, Deosai is one of the highest plateaus on earth, averaging around 4,000m. From mid-June to October it becomes endless wildflower meadows, glacial streams and open skies. Sheosar Lake (around 4,142m) is a pristine glacial mirror, and Himalayan brown bears — recovered from fewer than 20 in the early 1990s to several dozen today — are often spotted foraging nearby.

The Skardu & Deosai Tour combines two of Pakistan’s most extraordinary places in one 5-day, 4-night adventure — the mountain city of Skardu and the vast, otherworldly plateau of Deosai National Park. Skardu Skardu sits at 2,500m in the upper Indus Valley.

Arrive in Skardu, visit Kharpocho Fort, and get briefed for the Deosai safari.
A full day on Deosai (4,114m): Sheosar Lake, the hanging bridge, marmots, and brown bears.
