Karakoram Venture (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs karakoramventure.com to help trekkers, climbers, and travelers plan trips in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. This page explains what personal data we collect when you use this site or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

What we collect
Information you give us directly. When you fill in a contact, enquiry, or booking form on this site, we collect what you enter — typically your name, email address, phone number, trip dates or preferences, group size, and any message you write. If you book a trek or tour with us, we also collect the trip and logistics details needed to run that trip safely (e.g. passport/visa details, emergency contact, dietary or medical notes you choose to share).
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically log some technical data when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site — through Google Analytics (part of Google Site Kit) and Google Search Console.
Advertising data. We use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel to understand how visitors from our social ads use the site, and to show relevant ads to people who’ve shown interest in our trips. This works through cookies and similar technology from Meta — see their own privacy policy for how they handle this data.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and help you plan a trip
- To process and manage a booking you’ve made with us, including safety and logistics planning
- To send you trip-related communication (departure details, permit/visa guidance, itinerary updates)
- To understand how people use our site so we can improve it
- To show relevant ads to past visitors, and measure whether our marketing works
- To meet legal, accounting, or tax obligations
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for anything beyond what’s listed here.
Who we share it with
We only share personal data with the service providers we need to run this business and website, including:
- Google (Analytics, Search Console) — website analytics
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising and retargeting
- Hostinger — our website hosting provider
- Any local partners genuinely required to deliver your trip (e.g. permit offices, transport, lodging) — only the details needed for that purpose
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our clients, staff, or the public — for example, in a genuine trekking emergency.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for: remembering your language preference (via WPML), caching pages so they load faster (via LiteSpeed Cache), and the analytics and advertising tools listed above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; blocking them may affect how the site works.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry and booking data for as long as needed to respond to you, deliver a booked trip, and meet our accounting and legal record-keeping obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it. If you’d like your data deleted sooner, contact us and we’ll action it unless we’re legally required to keep it.
Your rights
Wherever you’re visiting from, you can ask us at any time to: tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete your data, or stop using it for marketing. Email info@karakoramventure.com and we’ll respond promptly. If you’re in the EU/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 without a parent or guardian involved (e.g. as part of a family trip booking made by an adult).
