The North Pakistan Jeep Safari is the ultimate overland adventure along one of the world’s most spectacular roads — a 12-day 4×4 expedition along the Karakoram Highway, exploring the remote valleys, high plateaus, ancient forts and dramatic landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan from the back of a purpose-equipped Land Cruiser. This is Pakistan seen at road level — raw, vast and unforgettable.
Why Jeep Safari?
The Karakoram Highway and its tributary roads pass through terrain that cannot be appreciated from a bus or plane. A dedicated 4×4 jeep allows you to stop at any viewpoint, turn off onto unmade tracks to remote villages, cross river fords and reach corners of Gilgit-Baltistan that no standard tour visits. Our experienced Skardu-based drivers know every track and shortcut through the mountains.
Route Highlights
Skardu & Baltistan (Days 1–4): Fly to Skardu and begin the jeep journey — Kharpocho Fort, Satpara Lake, the cold desert sand dunes, Shigar Valley and a full day across Deosai National Park’s plateau (4,114m) — bears, marmots and Sheosar Lake.
Karakoram Highway North (Days 5–8): Drive north via Gilgit through the Hunza Valley gorge — Attabad Lake by boat, Passu Cones, Gulmit, Shimshal valley detour and the Chinese border at Khunjerab Pass (4,693m) — the highest paved international border crossing in the world.
Return via Gilgit & Fairy Meadows (Days 9–12): Descend through Nagar Valley, visit the Rush Lake trailhead, jeep track to Fairy Meadows for views of Nanga Parbat (8,126m), then drive the final section back to Islamabad through the Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu Kush simultaneously.
