Itinerary — Hunza Valley Tour Package
Seven days up and down the Karakoram Highway: two honest road days bracketing three nights in Karimabad, a Gojal day among the cones and the lake, and the Khunjerab Pass — with the pass day moved freely inside the week to catch clear weather.
7 days
The long first day north — motorway to the hills, then the Karakoram Highway along the Indus, or the Babusar route in high summer. Overnight in Chilas. We drive daylight hours only.
Nanga Parbat viewpoint where three ranges meet, the Rakaposhi viewpoint tea stop, and the thousand-year-old watchtowers of Ganish. Into Karimabad by late afternoon, with the fort lit above you.
The two forts that ruled the valley for 700 years, the Royal Garden at Altit, walnut cake in the bazaar lanes, and sunset from Duikar — the whole valley gold below you.
North through the tunnels to the turquoise of Attabad, a boat on the lake, the old village of Gulmit, the swaying Hussaini suspension bridge for the brave, and the cathedral ridge of the Passu Cones.
Up through Khunjerab National Park — yaks, marmots, sometimes ibex — to the highest paved border crossing on earth. An hour at the gate, then down for a late lunch in Passu. Weather decides the day; we hold it flexible inside the week.
Across the river into Nagar to the white-and-grey sweep of Hopar Glacier, then a free Karimabad afternoon — shopping, a walk on the water channels, or nothing at all.
The long run home down the KKH with the week behind you. We schedule onward connections for the following morning — do not book a same-night international flight.

Do I need a permit for Khunjerab Pass?
No permit for the Pakistani side — your passport and the Khunjerab National Park fee, which is included. You stand at the border gate at 4,693m; crossing into China is a separate matter with its own visa and is not part of this tour.
Can I fly instead of driving?
Islamabad-Gilgit flights operate on clear days and cut the road time to 2.5 hours from Gilgit to Karimabad. They are weather-dependent and book out fast; tell us early and we will build the flight version with a road fallback.
Is the tour suitable for families?
